In this project, we have developed three quantitative models: (i) ETEM, a technology-rich model of the energy system allowing an analysis of technology choices for a transition to zero net emissions in Qatar; (ii) GEMINI-E3, a computable economic general equilibrium model showing the impact on macroeconomic variables of stringent climate policies in the GCC countries; (iii) a meta-game model showing how to implement equitable burden sharing between different groups of countries forming coalitions, one of them being the GCC countries.

These three models are complemented by a qualitative "Multi-Level Perspective" (MLP) approach to analyse the penetration of new technologies and new ways of using energy.
